Abstract

A fundamental parameter in education is academic performance in mathematics, which depends on a series of factors associated with the family's socioeconomic status (SES). Thus, the objective of this research was to explore the relationship between the family SES of the Educational Unit "Mercedes Aveiga de Zambrano", period 2022/2023 of District 13D07 and the mathematical performance of its students. Statistics were kept within the EU on family ESE and academic performance in mathematics. A survey was conducted with all students in the UE. Based on: (a) representative's participation in school activities and events, (b) representative's interest in matters related to what I am studying at school, (c) representative's influence on selection of extracurricular courses at school, (d) your representative participates in planning school programs, (e) your representative helps with mathematics consultations or homework. There were statistical differences between family SES and proxy diversity. There was an inversely proportional relationship between family SES and proxy involvement in academic achievement in mathematics. This is a fundamental indicator for the development of the country.
