Classroom experience based on the (re)creation of images through artificial intelligence
Main Article Content
Abstract
The exponential progress of Artificial Intelligence (AI) necessitates its integration into the educational sphere. This article focuses on introducing a pilot test designed to incorporate AI in image generation freely within academic settings. Conducted through design-based research, it involves 77 students enrolled in two Fine Arts courses, which cover both theoretical and practical aspects of image creation. The experimental proposal aims to recreate images previously made by students, including collages and posters, using freely accessible AI applications. To gather data on students' experiences with AI, an open-ended survey is administered. Additionally, a Likert-scale questionnaire is implemented before and after the activity to assess students' opinions regarding AI usage. Preliminary results of the proposal indicate a positive inclination of students towards AI, albeit they acknowledge the complexity associated with accurately formulating commands to achieve desired outcomes.
